In early spring, I somehow managed to fill the zoom lens of my Panasonic Lumix with soil , which sadly made my camera unusable. All the images for this years blogs, have been taken using my old iPhone.
Using my iPhone enables me to take an image on the spur of the moment. It is always important to remember that my customers pay me to manage their gardens, and not to spend time being an amateur photographer.
I very much hope you enjoy these images. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking them and writing about my gardening life in 2023.
Dahlia Merkensis from seed in March, and flowering by July No dig orchard renovation at homeSelf seeded feverfew at Martin and Judy’s and Allium sphaerocephalon. Chrysanthemums are my new thing .Late summer at home.I often cut big collections of flowers for the cafe at wildegoosenursery.First go at Wedding flowers – the theme was bohemia, and the location – Ludlow Castle.A pen and ink of our garden by my husband John. Start of a foliage lino cutA spring door garland for one of my friends .We only use freshly cut material from the gardens when making swags and door wreaths at Wildegoose nursery .Frost on the fruit tree at home
It really has been a great year for gardening and garden images , and of course there is one favourite. As soon as I took the image of the haw frost at home, I new instantaneously it was my most memorable.
To finish on a happy camera note, thanks to YouTube, we recently worked out how to mend the Lumix !
Looks fantastic Sally. Currently not feeling great, which is very annoying as a 60 th bday afternoon with barn dance starting at 4 today. Just been in the garden to clear my head but still feeling grotty. I spent yesterday perusing special seed catalogue…..I need to cull my current list of 33 packets !!!
Thanks Jon, its definitely been a great gardening year . it’s the year of big scale no dig veg growing in the orchard in 2024 . I’ll be sowing onion seeds and garlic sets in the greenhouse within the next fortnight
