“hello, I am Sally Wicks, I love writing and having conversations about horticulture and design “

I am a professional gardener, living and working in Shropshire. I studied Landscape Architecture at Birmingham University in the 1990’s and have worked in the profession of horticulture since then.

My recommendation is to carry a camera, notebook, niwaki secateurs and a good waterproof at all times.

I particularly enjoy writing short blogs with as many images of my working week as is possible.

I am a full member of the Garden Media Guild,

In March 2021, I also became a member of the nursery team at Wildegoose Nursery here in Shropshire. ( http://www.wildegoosenursery.co.uk ) I now work two days a week propagating plants from seeds, cuttings and divisions. It is a fascinating job, and my plant knowledge is definitely on an upward projectory. I consider that after 25 years of working in horticulture, that I have finally created my perfect job.
