Borders are looking particularly packed and full of the beginning of late Summer colour at the moment. Asters and Heleniums are just starting to nose their way in. I could hardly fit myself into weeding many of the borders in my care last week.
This fullness is exactly what I intended to achieve for everyone who I help as their gardener Maybe next year I will go for the large gap between plants approach – who knows ?
I do know I will carry on with the Sally Wicks approach to garden design, which is based on intention and planting from my heart.
Enjoy your gardens in all their late Summer glory.

Lovely to see all your careful tending providing exuberant planting schemes. Your gardens look fantastic.

Hey Sal xx Thanks for the advice on the chillies; natural selection left me with four plants and they are looking very bushy. The two small ‘fire’ chilli plants are looking like flowering next week. The two large plants (I forget the particular chilli) are edging their way to flower and hopefully fruit in the not too distant.

Hi Jon. My chillies have yet again not been my most successful ! I will try again next year. Flowers seem to be my thing. Glad my advice was helpful, I would start to feed yours with a balanced plant food to get those chillies ready for a curry. If you end up with too many make a door garland with them. I made a cracking one last Christmas for a Thai restaurant. If I remember I put some images of the chilli garland on a blog last year. Sal
