This year my new approach to growing my floral garden is firmly based on combining seedlings.
Each mix is based on three cultivars of plants that I think will ultimately look gorgeous together. Importantly no container has the same amount of seedlings, as when I plant out in early June I really want to create an informal planting style.
This batch has been growing on for a fortnight.
Tithonia Torch, Chrysanthemum Rainbow Hippy Love Child, and Amaranthus Love lies bleeding has a week or so to go, before I prick them out into their mixed containers.

I then decided to mix seeds right from the outset. I am hoping that through missing out the pricking out stage will not be my horticultural downfall.

However, when it comes to the confectionery version of “pick and mix ” there can only ever be one combination – chocolate covered raisins and pear drops ( in my opinion anyway).
