How do gardeners like to spend their time whilst taking a break from their tools? Well here’s my brief synopsis of our family holiday with  Fiona.056

We spent a reasonable amount of time on gorgeous vibrant benches in Falmouth.

If I were to paint a bench for my garden, it would need to be bright orange and vibrant pink stripes to match my Tithonia and Dahlias.

We visited gardens for inspiration, coffee and cake at Trentham Gardens in Stoke-On- Trent and Godolphin a National Trust property near Helston in Cornwall.  They are both truly beautiful places ( and spaces) to spend time in.  Images below are from the Godolphin Gardens  ( occasionally,  I contemplate my working life outside self-employment –  it would definitely be working in gardens like these, as they both have an incredible sense of place).

I photographed the seaside borders in Falmouth, Cornwall ( I think a maritime climate might suit me one day)

Maybe  I should just leap into the void, and do all of these three things?

Or maybe I should be content with being a Shropshire gardener and sitting in my kitchen, with my tomato noughts and crosses with a cup of tea whilst thoroughly enjoying all the cut flowers from my garden on my kitchen windowsill.
