In all honesty, it was the cacophonous bird sound from within the front garden hawthorn hedge which had the biggest impact on our first viewing of no 26.
The hedge was ( and still is ) full of very loud sparrows, occasional blackbirds, passing robins and bluetits.
John recently gave me this beautiful book.

I now know we have a ‘quarrel’ of sparrows, a ‘blush’of robins, a ‘charm’of goldfinches, a ‘murmuration’ of starlings, and a ‘murder’ of crows within and surrounding our garden.
And finally – seeing that it is Valentine’s Day, why not take a read of this too ? . http://Garden appreciation.
Enjoy your gardens !
