I have a new favourite perennial – Disporum flavens commonly know as Yellow fairy bells.

This plant is quite perfect in structure, foliage and flower, with a graceful arching stem and the most exquisite lemon yellow flower, and lives very happily in one of my customers gardens. If you possess even the smallest area of dappled shade with moisture retentive and well drained soil you really ought to plant one. Believe me you will not be disappointed.
My greenhouse is full to brimming with seeds and cuttings – nothing new there then. I still have a fair amount which is yet to be sown. I think I need a greenhouse extension!
I wonder what previously unseen and new must have plants will catch my eye at Chelsea this year ? Only 23 days to go, not that my sister and I are counting down …

Beautiful flower and image !!

There is a native perennial that looks something like that, but without the nice bloom. I can not remember the name of it, even though it grows wild on one of my garden parcels, as well at work in a few spots. The flowers actually look very similar up close, but I do not bother to get that close. They are pale greenish yellow, quit small, and easy to miss. This specie, whether or not it is related, certainly is more interesting.
